Summer came to a close and Autumn rolled in pretty quickly. We should have reminded the seasons from across the bocce court… ‘Not Too Fast!’. In hopes to roll summer into autumn at the right speed, below are a few LGBC News topics and a funny joke.

LGBC Wins Again: We have news of a Los Gatos Bocce Club win vs Scotts Valley Bocce Club. Live review from Bob R: Rolando, Bert, John Flora and I represented the LGBC on Saturday at a friendly tournament with the Scotts Valley Bocce Club. Best 2 out of 3 games and we won the first 2. Another win for LGBC thanks to some fine play by John, Bert and Rolando.

Hosting Oakmeadow: For the last couple of weeks, John R has brought the sign-up sheet for our members to host dinner while we play at Oakmeadow Park during the winter (Nov 15-Feb 28). Out of the 15 total weeks in our winter schedule we already have 7 hosts! If you haven’t signed up yet, see John for the official sign-up sheet. Please check the schedule for up to date info.

Red Vs Green: Surprisingly enough, we had a funky Thursday night at John’s place a couple of weeks ago when the Red team decided to step-it-up on a couple of games. We were all in amazement when Team Red took and kept the lead. As we all know, Green still dominates the battle between Red vs Green, but there was something magical that night at John’s that gave us all hope that maybe, just maybe, Red might have what it takes to pull ahead. Purely magical indeed because Green was back to winning the next week.

Fun Joke: A blond is watching the news with her husband when the newscaster announces that six Brazilian men died in a skydiving accident. The blond starts sobbing uncontrollably. Confused, her husband says, “It is sad, but they were skydiving. There were risks involved.” After a few moments, the blond, still crying, asks, “How many is a Brazilian?”
